I turned to a simple and easy-to-do Qigong exercise contained in this course that is a gentle, rhythmic, undulation of the spine coupled with soft breathing exercises. It will not only ease your aching back but also deeply relax you. I never needed that spinal surgery and now my back is in better shape than most people half my age.
We fused cutting-edge sports science and sports medicine with the ancient Qigong exercises for back pain for ultimate back pain relief.
Qigong helps the body enable a free and uninterrupted flow of energy. To keep a healthy and supple body, there shouldn’t be blockages or impediments. Take for example water. A healthy river is one that has its water flowing freely at all times. The river becomes dead when its water is stagnant.
Back pain is commonly associated with stagnancy. This could happen in the form of a poor diet, bad posture, aging, not exercising, smoking, being overweight, or injuries.
This Qigong course was thoughtfully designed to help you with improving your body structure, strength, and flexibility. You learn to develop your body’s resiliency and balance. This not only helps your body quickly recover its proper structure but also improves your motion range.
Through the continuous practice of different postures, relaxed stretching, and breathing techniques, an increased amount of blood and energy is circulated to the back. This eases the built-up tension in the back while also improving the spine posture and muscle strength.

One of such exercises that can help you relieve your accumulated back tension and pain is the “The Wave /Dragon Back”. This singular technique when practiced continuously will get rid of all tightness from the top of the neck to the end of the tailbone.
When practiced correctly, The Wave awakens the stomach, the Dan Tian, and encourages a supple spine. You can follow the outlined process to practice this.
Gently thrusting the hips forward, you feel each vertebra gradually opening, as you bring the wave up to your chest, and then draw a circle with your sacrum, starting all over again. The chest expands at the top with the inhalation reaching its peak and then gently relaxes and compresses with the exhalation.
This exercise prepares you for the next one in the sequence. For this exercise, start with the feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Rest the hands on the Lower Dan Tian, while keeping the elbows pointing outwards. Using your feet to push into the ground as if you are going to jump, begin to gently thrust your pelvis forward, tucking in your tailbone, and feeling your lower spine contracting.
Keep rolling the spine forward until you reach the top of your spine. At this point, the chest is arched forward and as this happens the tailbone moves backward as if you were going to sit in a chair. Repeat the sequence, keeping the movement continuous.
Keep your breathing natural and relaxed. We advise you first to master the movement before learning the breathing technique. The movement should feel like a wave is rolling up through your spine. Also, you can feel the kidneys and the Intestines getting an internal massage.
Several benefits are associated with practicing these posture asides from alleviating back pain. You also effectively massage the kidneys, spleen, and liver. Your brain health improves as much as your thinking process. Overall your spine becomes effectively stretched and supple.
